Hats for Orphans
Who We Are by: Rhonda Yetter Hats for Orphans is an organization that was started 2 years ago by Rhonda "Michele" Yetter in Helena, Montana. Crocheting is a hobby that she has enjoyed for almost 40 years. Having already made afghans and other items for all of her family members, she wanted to be able to keep on crocheting and helping others around her. That is when God gave her the idea for Hats for Orphans. It started out with just making hats for Orphans in an orphanage in Kabul, Afghanistan for the first two years. Now in the third year, there will be hats, mittens, scarves, tie-blankets, and baby quilts to orphanages in China and Nepal. All the items are hand made and taken to the Orphans through volunteers going into these and other countries. All the money that is donated to Hats for Orphans is used to pay for the postage and handling to get the items to a volunteer who will hand them out personally to the children. None of it will go to pay salaries of the board members, since they are all volunteers who have a burden for the Orphans. We thank you here at Hats for Orphans for taking the time to look at this website and for placing an order to support us. All proceeds earned from this site go to Hats for Orphans.
