The Glade Park "Watkins Lady" by: Debra Moorland When I was growning up on a ranch on Glade Park, CO, we had a "Watkins Lady," who traveled around from home to home taking orders for products. Although we loved the solitude of that lifestyle, it was a treat have a visitor, and take a little shopping trip without having to drive all the way to Grand Junction. When I recently rediscovered Watkins, the smell of the fresh vanilla Mom ordered from her instantly came back to me. This company, established in 1868, has adapted to the modern world by adding some new marketing methods. But I was delighted to find that it still feels the same. There is still a devotion to quality, with the comfortable charm of a time past. Some of the products are obviously timeless, and still around. And even the new ones are true to the quality brand. Now I am the "Watkins Lady," and looking forward to serving my customers through online methods. But for those in my area, I am willing to make house calls, because good old fashioned neighborly business can't be completly replaced. Are you interested in the wonderful product line, or would you like to find out about the surprising opportunites of being a "Watkins Lady," ...or "Watkins Guy," ? |
